Robert is a native of Austria and was raised in Leopoldstad of Vienna’s second district.
Leopoldstadt, pre-WWII, teemed with Jewish life, culture, theater and coffeehouses. In the following years the area became forgotten about and neglected. Today grassroots efforts exist attracting Jewish people to return, and now businesses, schools and homes have been successfully established. Leopoldstadt is now one of the few places in the world, outside of Brooklyn and Tel Aviv, where bohemians stroll alongside Orthodox Jews.
