Art of Shabbat: Eye on Contemporary Israeli Art

FRIDAY, APRIL 19 – Mizel Museum curator Georgina Kolber will intrigue you with a presentation and discussion on contemporary Israeli art, drawing on her experiences during the Museum’s successful and enriching October 2012 Art & Culture trip to Israel. Travelers met with Israel’s established and emerging artists, who all generously served up fresh perspectives on art and culture.

  • Shai Azoulay’s large canvases speak a narrative of magical realism
  • Andi Arnovitz addresses feminism and orthodoxy
  • Sigalit Landau’s socially poignant installations and sculptures speak volumes about life in Israel today
