World-renowned recording artist, composer, violinist and singer Yair Dalal is probably the most prolific Israeli ethnic musician in the world today. Naser Musa is a singer and songwriter and a master of the Oud, a Middle Eastern lute. Ty Burhoe has established new territory for the tabla which has attracted international acclaim.

Voices of Resilience Exhibit   Voices of Resilience Art Exhibit

September 22, 2008 - January 8, 2009

Voices of Resilience, a poignant four-part exhibition on the often taboo subject of genocide, educates viewers on the subject and celebrates the resilience of genocide survivors.

On view are images, text letters, poetry and sculptural installations. The four exhibits are: Healing Beauty, with artists Moyo Okediji and Wole Lagunju; The Dead Weight of Complacency, a series of text an image panels on genocide; Holocaust and Hope: Students Speak, an exhibition of original poetry, art and letters by 7th and 8th graders at the Challenge School in the Cherry Creek School District; and Survivor Quilt, a paper quilt created by survivors from the Rocky Mountain Survivor Center.

As one of the more than 150 events, families can enjoy a docent led tour of the Voices of Resilience exhibit and art projects for kids. The Colorado Hebrew Chorale was founded in 1993 by music director, Carol Kozak Ward, to preserve and celebrate the richness of Hebrew chorale music throughout the Rocky Mountain region. New artwork by Colorado Jewish Artist Guild of the Mizel Museum (CJAG) artist Marilyn Lande. Lande created these magazine pages with photography and collage. This new work is meant to hint at the volumes of issues one would have to create to do justice to all the women who have contributed to the story of the Jewish people - without which there would not be a Jewish people.
