| More than 35 years ago, visionaries in Denver came together, as the Babi Yar Park Foundation, to memorialize a tragic and senseless act of terror with a gift of life – a 27-acre park standing as the city’s symbol against man’s inhumanity to man. Today, the Foundation has partnered with the Mizel Museum to revitalize the park and extend its message of conscience and hope throughout the world. Babi Yar Park is a living memorial to the thousands of Jews, gypsies, krainians and others, murdered from 1941-1943 at the Babi Yar ravine on the outskirts of Kiev. With its gateway of two tall and proud black marble slabs signifying resoluteness in upholding the right and dignity of all people, Babi Yar Park serves as a reminder that the deeds of men past, present and future stand unforgotten and accountable. For more information on the Babi Yar Park Memorial Program, call the Mizel Museum at 303 394-9993 ext. 101. |
