Fred created the watercolors and chuppahs currently being exhibited in the Museum's summer show "Blessings and Bridges and Chuppahs", at the museum through September 2, 2005. Mr. Spinowitz received a BFA and MS in fine arts from Pratt Institute. He has spent his long career in the visual arts creating and developing images with Hebrew calligraphy. It is a marriage of abstract art and the sinuous letterforms of the Hebrew alphabet, which inspires Spinowitz to constantly see new images in an age-old tradition. Calligraphy and illumination are only a part of his visual repertoire. Most recently, Spinowitz and Singer have collaborated in designing an art/photo portfolio, which shares an artistic and ritualistic conversation with their viewers. It opens possibilities not heretofore exposed. |
